Welcome to the new JM Harris Website and Blog

For years, we used an older format for our web-page which was difficult to modify.  The employee who designed and wrote most of it moved on to other work. So now, we have a new beginning.  As you will note, there are roughly fifteen Principles for which I actively sell products. In many instances, the companies that I call on and my customers therein are the same ones I have worked with since 1982.

I was Principal Owner of E. G. Holmes and Associates, Inc. ("EGH") from 1991 until end of September, 2016.   EGH was chartered in Georgia in 1954. Initially, we were a Manufacturer's Representative and Engineering Consulting firm owned by two Registered Professional Engineers. That changed with the retirement of both Ed Holmes and Jim Williams.   In 2014 the current partners at EGH decided to dissolve the company and go our separate ways while still maintaining our connections. Each of us set up our own "LLC" type of Corporation. This arrangement allows each of us (there are currently five) to work out our own contracts with various Principals or we can partner together to sell some of our Principal's products all over the Southeast USA.   The advantage of this is that certain products have limited sales potential in some of the areas which we cover. This allows each of us to be more selective in what we agree to market in our respective regions.

I also like to create fine art (watercolor, acrylic, pencil and ink and miscellaneous wood carvings). That (additional small business) lead me to incorporate it into this web page.   In my art, I do mostly commission work; you send me a couple of photographs and I can most often come up with a painting.   I do not do portraits of people or animals.  With one exception, I have not made prints or copies of any of my work; if you get an original, you have the only copy.

I am going to update this newsletter at least monthly as my Principals send out press releases and/or new product info.   You will find a "contact me" page to use when you need additional info. There is an additional "contact me" page if want a Quote for commission-able art work.

Hope you like what we have so far... your comments are welcomed...!
