About J. Michael harris

   Mike has 35+ years sales experience in the Southeast.  He joined E. G. Holmes and Associates in 1981.  In addition to his administrative duties, he managed the North Carolina, South Carolina and Southern Virginia sales areas of the company.  Mike studied Electronics Technology at Danville Technical Institute in VA.; receiving an A.S. in Electronics Technology in 1965.  Following his technical schooling, Mike worked at General Electric Co. (now Harris Communications Systems, Tyco-MA/Com and/or Andrews) in Lynchburg, VA, where he assisted in the development of video and telemetry cable amplifiers.  He transferred to GE's computer division where his assignments included installation and maintenance of data processing computers and their software. GE's and Honeywell's computer divisions merged and Honeywell Information Systems, Inc. transferred Mike to their Lawrence, Mass. production facility in 1971. He worked as Group Leader/Asst. Supervisor on a computer final test production line and as a design engineer in the magnetic tape drive product line.  While at the Lawrence facility, Mike completed his undergraduate degree requirements and received a BS in Business Administration from New Hampshire College (cum laude).

   Mike joined Inforex in 1976 as an Industrial Engineer where he set‑up production lines and developed manufacturing methods for advanced "Intelligent Key Entry" information processing equipment and dot matrix printers.  In 1978, Mike joined Vermont Research Corp. where he had an outstanding record as a Sales Engineer.

   Mike's career has not been limited to work only; he has also been active in the community through Jaycees, having served as President of the NH Jaycees in 1977 and as Administrative Vice President of the US JCI Senate in 1988; as Editor of the JCI Senate’s quarterly publication and numerous program chairmanships. He has served on the church Vestry and sings in the choir of Church of the Resurrection Anglican Church in Fuquay/Varina, NC.  Mike has also been active with the Wake County (NC) Republican party. Mike is a member or associate member of the following societies and organizations:
